  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 34 tablespoons milk or cream
  • Green food coloring (for “field”)
  • White icing gel or melted white chocolate (for lines)
  • Mini chocolate chips or candies (for details)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Whisk together flour and baking powder in a medium bowl.

3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar for 3–4 minutes until light and fluffy.

4. Add vanilla, almond extract, and egg, mixing until smooth.

5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.

6. Form dough into a ball, roll out to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface.

7. Cut into 3×4-inch rectangles to resemble football stadiums.

8. Transfer cookies to baking sheets and chill for 10 minutes.

9. Bake for 9–11 minutes or until edges are just lightly golden.

10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

11. Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing; tint green for the field.

12. Decorate with white icing gel for lines and mini candies for “fans.”

Notes

• Chill dough before baking for clean, sharp cookie edges.

• Substitute half butter with Greek yogurt for lighter cookies.

• Use coconut sugar or reduce sugar to 3/4 cup for a less sweet version.

• For gluten-free: swap flour with 1:1 gluten-free baking blend.

• Cookies can be baked ahead and frozen for up to 3 months.
